Hal serves as the Assistant Dean for Student Services & International Programs in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS).
He completed his PhD in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Success from Azusa Pacific University. He also holds an MS from Western Illinois University and a BA from Gustavus Adolphus College.
Hal's professional research interests include better understanding both academic and non-academic barriers to student success and how students overcome those barriers to persist in higher education. Outside of work, Hal enjoys remaining active through running in the summer and playing curling in the winter.
